F4E has a powerful model. Yes, it’s about getting nutritious lunches to kids in schools which allows children to learn, grow, and lead the productive lives of their dreams. But our impact goes beyond improved student learning and health outcomes. F4E is building inclusive economies, creating over 3,000 jobs to date, supporting valued suppliers' growth, and role modeling the importance of proximate leadership and authentic community connection on every level.
Hungry kids can’t learn or grow.
Only 15% of children in low‑income countries receive school meals.

It’s proven. Hungry children can’t learn. They don’t have the strength or attention span. Without proper nutrition, a child’s development lags.
Decades of effort and millions of dollars have been spent. But the problem still hasn’t been solved. Across Africa, effective, affordable, and sustainable school feeding programs are the exception. Not the norm.
When programs do exist, they’re run by outsiders who ignore local nutritious ingredients and resources.
The result? Parents can’t afford the lunches. Or they pay for one that’s expensive, unsafe, not climate-friendly, or lacks proper nutrition. Government leaders and communities want the opportunity to change the norm. We bring them the systems or expertise to do so at scale.
Our focused mission.
Food for Education mainstreams school feeding programs across Africa by designing a blueprint, operating it, then supporting replication.
We’re champions of the school feeding program revolution. We know school feeding programs solve classroom hunger and knock down barriers to learning.
Our insatiable vision.
A world where no child has to learn on an empty stomach.
Our immediate goal? Triple our impact in 3 years. Feeding one million kids a day by 2027. It’s a big number, but our long-term ambition is even bigger.
By 2030, we’ll feed at least 2 million more children in two other African countries through sharing our blueprint with government technical advisory.
Then, our role shifts from doer to enabler. We prove it by doing it ourselves. Once the industry is forged, we share its blueprint to be adopted across Africa.
If this seems ambitious, it’s because it is. But we’ve scaled 10x in the past two years and ~30x since 2020. We are on track. And we won’t rest until we’ve created and scaled a uniquely African solution to a global challenge.
Our history.
African-founded and women-led.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. It takes the F4E team to feed the future.
